Question: I may miss some Events; can I even win anything at the end of the Season?

Answer: If you are not able to play in every Event, you should still consider playing. Cash payouts for tournament Wins and Cashes are several hundred dollars. Additionally, members have the option to collect Participation Points for Events they missed by paying past Entry Fees in person at the next Event they attend. This allows for everyone to remain competitive on the LeaderBoard even if they miss an Event.

Question: I don’t know how to play poker; can I still play?

Answer: This club is for players of at least intermediate skill level and an ideal environment to improve your No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament play. At a casino you can expect to pay a minimum of $150-300 for a single Tournament with a large field. A thePokerClub Event has an Entry Fee of $50.

Question: Aren’t home poker games illegal in California?

Answer: This is true if the venue hosting the event takes a ‘rake’ (per-hand percentage of each pot or percentage of total monies). 100% of thePokerClub money goes back to Members in the form of a Winners Pool and Club Trophy Pool at the end of the season.

Question: What happens if I am late to an Event?

Answer: All registered Event players (Entry Fees paid) will be dealt in to the game whether they are present at the start of the Tournament or not. Players have until the first break (end of blind Round 6) to take their seat. Until this time the players chip stack will be blinded down.

Question: What happens if I have to leave in the middle of a Tournament and/or Event?

Answer: If you leave mid-Tournament, your chip stack will be blinded down until you return. If you do not return by the time players are ‘in the money’ you will be eliminated from the Tournament and will earn your Participation Point. Eliminations of this type do not affect blind rounds. If a Member leaves between Event Tournaments, they can still claim both Participation Points for having contributed their Entry Fee.

Question: How does the club schedule events?

Answer: A survey is sent to all Members at least 30 days before the Event month. All Members are asked to highlight their availability for each Friday of the Event month. The Friday that gets the most votes will be the date of the Event.

Question: How did you come up with the Payout Structures?

Answer: Both the Tournament Payout Structure and end of year Winners Pool Payout Structure award LeaderBoard Points to as close to the top 30% as possible. This approach is aligned with casino Tournaments.

Question: I have a recommendation for making the thePokerClub experience better; who can I talk to?

Answer: Suggestions for club enhancement should be sent to the Club Manager and will be voted on by all participating Members.
